Half brother shot to death in dispute

Allegheny, PA – Police in Blair County are investigating a shooting death in Allegheny Township involving two brothers.

Police arrested 22-year-old Brandon Ott of Duncansville late Friday night. Ott is facing charges for the death of his half brother 26-year-old John Purcell III of Lancaster.

The shooting happened at a house on Deerfield Drive around 11:30 p.m. Police said the brothers were fighting when Ott went into his room to get a pistol and can of pepper spray. Ott came out of the room and sprayed Purcell in the face. Police said the Purcell grabbed the gun and it discharged.

The Blair County Coroner said Purcell died of a gun shot wound to the head. Ott is in the Blair County Prison facing charges of involuntary manslaughter and recklessly endangering another person.

2 Dead In College Murder-Suicide

DEARBORN, Mich. – Two people were killed at Henry Ford Community College in Dearborn Friday afternoon in what police are calling a murder-suicide.

Deputy Police Chief Gregg Brighton said Henry Ford Community College was locked down in the early afternoon, but the campus has since been secured and the lockdown was lifted.

Police said they got a call around 12:30 p.m. on a report of an assault. En route, they got another report of shots being fired at the college’s fine arts center.

When police arrived both victims, a 20-year-old female theatre student and a 28-year-old male student were dead.

The 28-year-old gunman used a shotgun to shoot the woman and himself. Local 4 has learned the two students were in a relationship, and had been in a theater class together.

Crime scene investigators said the shooting was in room F111. Police said the 20-year-old was rehearsing a scene in the empty room when the shooter barged in. More on MSNBC
