Jersey City, New Jersey – Pedro Roman Jr. of Bartholdi Avenue was shot Tuesday afternoon after a confrontation with two other teens at around 3 p.m. in Ferris Triangle Park on the corner of Old Bergen Road and Bartholdi Avenue. DeFazio said Holmes is alleged to have been the shooter.

DeFazio said the alleged shooting may have stemmed from a prior dispute.

DeFazio said Holmes is changed with murder and related weapons offenses. A $1 million bail was set for Holmes after he made an appearance in front of state Superior Court Judge Kevin Callahan Wednesday afternoon.

Roman’s death is the seventh homicide in Jersey City so far this year, according to DeFazio, with six committed by handgun. More on Hudson Reporter
