Detroit — Police are searching for suspects in the death of a 78-year-old man who was shot Wednesday while driving on the city’s west side.

About 3:30 p.m., the man was in a car near Fenkell and Linwood when a white van pulled up alongside him and shot at the driver’s side, said Sgt. Eren Stephens Bell of the Detroit Police Department.

The man, whose name has not been released, was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

It was unknown how many people were in the van at the time of the shooting, Stephens Bell said. More on Detroit News
