Woman charged in shooting death of 75-year-old man
ANCHORAGE, Alaska — Anchorage police have charged a 28-year-old woman for the shooting death of a man in east Anchorage early Thursday morning.
The man, 75-year-old Samuel Black, died after police found him shot at a home on Kimberlie Court off East 42nd Avenue near Lake Otis Parkway.
Sherrie Ina Wilson, 28, is charged with second-degree murder and drunken driving.
Residents at the home told police that Wilson stayed there on occasion and that her and Black had been drinking and arguing that evening, according to the APD.
After a neighbor reported a disturbance at about 2:30 a.m. Thursday, patrol officers responded to the area and noticed Wilson nearby driving a pickup truck erratically. They arrested Wilson for DUI.
When officers responding to the initial disturbance call reached the Kimberlie Court home, they found Black, the home’s owner, dead from gunshot wounds.
Thursday’s shooting is Anchorage’s seventh homicide of 2009. More on KTUU.com
