Wesleyan Student Shot to Death in Cafe by stalker
A student at Wesleyan University in Middletown, Conn., was shot to death at a campus cafe on Wednesday, the university’s president said.
The president, Michael S. Roth, said the gunman was still at large.
The student, Johanna Justin-Jinich, class of 2010, who was from Timnath, Colo., was killed at her job at the Red and Black Cafe, Mr. Roth said in a statement on the university’s Web site.
Students, faculty and staff on campus were asked to remain indoors for about four hours while the police searched for the killer, he said.
A gun was recovered from the Broad Street Books store, where the cafe is located, according to the statement.Ms. Justin-Jinich’s former boyfriend, who was not identified, entered the cafe about 1 p.m. carrying a gun and wearing a wig.
