12-year-old Boy Dies After Accidentally Firing Gun
HAMMOND, Ore. — A 12-year-old boy accidentally shot and killed himself Sunday in the western Oregon town of Hammond, police said.
Warrenton police said a bullet from a .22-caliber pistol struck and killed Austin Matschiner. The gun used in the shooting belongs to his family. The sixth grader died in his room Sunday morning, medical examiners said.
Police said Matschiner was an avid hunter and was at home with his mom when the gun went off. More on KPTV.com

Portland, Oregon – Andrew Gabriel Perez, 11750 E. Burnside St., was arrested Tuesday after Portland police were called to the house at about 2:30 p.m. and found 18-year-old Chance Domingo Caron dead from a single gunshot wound to the head. Perez and Caron lived together at the house.
Perez was lodged in the Multnomah County Detention Center on one count of criminally negligent homicide.
Homicide detectives investigating the incident think the shooting might have been an accident. More on Outlook Online
